ABOUT OUR RESEARCH

Our group uses high-throughput-sequencing, bioinformatics and biochemistry approaches to study the role of RNA in the interaction of human immune cells with infectious agents. Our focus is on regulatory functions of ribonucleoprotein complexes in innate defense of the human lung – a primary site of pathogen attack.

We also investigate how the host’s regulatory RNA networks are undermined and manipulated by bacterial and viral pathogens and develop new tools for therapeutic intervention in misguided RNA circuits.
